THE PLAYHOUSE PROJECT 8th Birthday Ballroom Rave w/ Veba (Groove Armada) & Lil'Fee (the Whip). Featuring unique performances from the Cequin Circus & Broken Glass Crew member Boneslimm.

It's our 8th Birthday and we are throwing a massive party to celebrate on 28th April, at our favourite city centre venue the Refuge. We are inviting families along to this grand and unique space to dance and create with us. We'll be taking over Kimpton Clock Tower Ballroom located within the hotel, for this very special birthday rave. 

To the soundtrack of our fav DJ duo Veba & Lil' Fee featuring the Cequin Circus and Bone Slimm Forde (Broken Glass Crew).

Expect a slick set of Soulful House, Disco & Electronica Goodness.

Activities

Random Acts of Plantness - Horticulture based workshops for both big and little people, to learn to grow together' led by Jo Ruscoe.

Hula Hula Circus workshops expect: hula hoops, diablos, bucket stilts, spinning plates, flower sticks, gymnastic ribbons and diablos, great fun for both the kids and adults.

BLOOM Baby play & multi sensory aimed at 0 - 4 year olds. Sessions are packed full with a range of activities; music, pom-poms, baby yoga, sensory play, props & bubbles.

Themed arts and craft workshops

The Glam Shack - face glitter, hair braiding, glitter tattoos, airbrush tattoos & nails painting.

Face art stall by Changing Faces for Fun.

Optional dress code - sequins & sparkle! 

DJs

Queen of the scene VEBA (Rae & Christian, Groove Armada). One of Manchester's greatest soul singers & DJs. Veba provided her unique vocal skills on several tracks for Grand Central records, most famously “Spellbound” one of the most iconic soul tunes ever to be produced in Manchester. Veba's soulful, gospel tones have also appeared on various Groove Armada & Nightmares on Wax albums. 

DJ Lil’ Fee, aka Fiona Daniel (The Whip, Flex) has enjoyed an international music career as the drummer in slick, dance-rock outfit, The Whip. Lil' Fee's DJ sets are finely crafted, rhythmic-roller-coasters, full of sonic energy for your dancefloor stomp. 

Terms and Conditions.

All ticket parties must arrive together as a condition of entry, adults without children will not be admitted.

Please remember that you remain 100% responsible for your children at all times.

Please do not leave alcoholic drinks unattended.

Music will be set to the recommended levels for little ears, child-safe club lighting, no strobe lighting used.

The venue will be at full capacity, we advise parents of young babies to wear a sling particularly on the dance-floor.

This event is aimed at 0-11 year olds (activities are for this age range) however older children are welcome to attend.

Photography / Video - There will be a photographer at the event, some shots will be used for publicity. Please inform a member of staff on arrival if you do not want your little ones to be photographed.

Please no running or rowdy behaviour.
