When picking a silent film to show it's important to find one with modern appeal. in our research we came across a gem! A film presumed lost until 2007, by an early pioneer of cinema, Cecil M. Hepworth which was made and set in our own Hebden Bridge.

Slime Presents is a northern based film screening night bringing you our best picks from blockbusters to arthouse. 

There's a lot of talk about film and other arts institutions moving up north and it's important to us at Slime to show that film has always had a home with us. 

IMDB puts the plot bluntly as 'A madman adopts the daughter of the dead woman who rejects him and forces her to marry a crook.' With all this unravelling amongst the moorland of the Yorkshire Dales it is fair to say that we are well into gothic territory.

This screening is part of a short tour of events, the first taking place in Leeds, followed by a screening in Birkenhead and Manchester. 

For our last event we will be joined by accomplished noise musician Owain Kelly and Chris Fienmann who will add an eerie gloom to the screening.
