I paid for VIP tickets that also came with express entry but I waited outside for about 2 hours while people rushed the door and violently pushed us all over the place. I spoke to the security and showed them that I have VIP tickets but nobody tried to help me at all!

Review of Pioneer Plays Festival
Its was great until the gates got smashed in. I was really enjoying myself despite it but I felt the atmosphere change and I felt on edge because I was uncertain about the people that entered and if they had weapons on not. If I hadnât arrived by coach I wouldâve left about 8pm because it started to feel unsafe.

great event should be more seating areas like beanbags and maybe some shade as inside the tents were so hot and we had no relief, also plastic bottles...people were trying to stab others with a broken bottle, some simple wasp catches...had my friend been able to make it she could have died from her allergy...should have gone on till 11pm and car park situ was ridiculous getting out...i seen a car smashed to peices. more food stalls.

Totally disorganised event. Skeleton security compared to attendants who were completely overwhelmed, one female security officer was in tears. Only one entrance/exit which did not appear at all appropriate for an event of such magnitude.
The main gate was rushed by hundreds of people (the scene was very reticent of the Hillborough disaster), myself and friends continued to queue (two of us even had our tickets scanned) but due to the mob at the gates which were abruptly shut as a result, staff ceased scanning tickets. After waiting for well over an hour with the mob of people still trying to rampage through the gates without tickets, we heard security shouting that the gates would remain shut until the mob cleared away from the gate. It did not appear that this would be the case. We eventually grew frustrated and peeved and left. I will never attend this event again, it seems that once their money is made they don't care about the service provided. Absolutely disgraceful and we weren't the only ones who left.
