Review of IMS Ibiza Summit 2022
As a delegate for the first time I was very surprised and impressed about the variety, the attitude, the perspectives. Responsibility, Technology, Diversity , Well-being - all played an important role. And sure the M of IMS, the music: Sessions from Arthur Baker to Joplyn, Lectures from Nastia to Duran Duran. Avatars as the Future of DJing, Spatial Sound and Festivals in the Metaverse. Ibiza has a purpose! Thank you.

Review of IMS Ibiza Summit 2022
Classic event to kick off the new season of 2022. This years topics were well balanced between music, web3 and sustainability. Impressive list of speakers and attendees, representing the global crème de la crème.
New location Destino is also fabulous and very well equipped for this kind of events.

Review of IMS Ibiza Summit 2022
This is the first time I've attended IMS Ibiza. I had thought that more notable DJs would have attended this event for mentorship and networking. I was looking forward to an award presentation to Lauren Garnier, but it seems that it was cancelled without any explanation.
The workshops and exhibits were good, but one on making money in the music industry talked mostly about working for employers and dealing with bosses, while this industry seems to mostly about freelancers, especially for DJs and Music Producers.
Since it wasn't yet Summer Season, no restaurants in the area within walking distance were open during the conference. So as an alternative to the expensive restaurant at the resort, there were food trucks with pizza, sandwiches, kebabs and Asian food. Tickets had to be purchased in advance for all of the food and drink, with the street truck food 10-20€, and drinks 6-10€. For what it was, I found that expensive.
I also couldn't use a drink ticket on Friday evening at 6pm, since the fine print stated that it expired on Friday at 5pm, even though the conference was still open.
If not staying at the resort, transportation options are limited. The buses through the area run around once an hour and some come fifteen minutes early, so without a car then taking taxis or walking seemed the best alternatives.
Some highlights from the summit were an interview with a UK promoter about his experience during the last 20 years in the nightlife industry, a glimpse into music events happening this Summer on the island, ideas for making music festivals more eco friendly, understanding Tik Tok, and psychology workshops about erasing self doubt, making money and self promotion.
The wristband worked for quick entry into the Dalt Vila party on Friday night and also Amnesia. The Amnesia party was the best event out of everything so far, with the exception of around 200 people waiting in line for taxis around 4:30am. If the clubs are open, the Disco Bus should run to help alleviate the wait. That was hard to endure after a full day packed with other activities.
Overall, I would recommend Amsterdam Dance Event to others, since there's much better transportation, restaurants everywhere, and the day conference is similar. Although Ibiza wins for the the beach and Sun, no comparison there!
