I didn’t like the VIP area at the front of the stage. It was pretty empty and there was no atmosphere. Events make enough money off ticket sales and food/drink etc. I don’t like this system. If you want to have a VIP area have it to one side. They also need a separate area for the annoying chair people. You can’t expect to sit in a chair at the front of the barrier and then moan when people stand in front of you! If they keep the golden ticket thing I wouldn’t go again. The music was good and it’s a nice venue so it’s a shame that it was spoiled by greedy organisers. I’d rather they put up the general ticket price and let people that want to enjoy the music get to the front. I’m off to the Isle of Wight this weekend where it won’t be an issue. Thanks.

Considering it was the hottest day of the year so far I couldn’t find any water stations to refill my three bottles I was allowed in
The prices of the drinks were astronomical but to top it all waiting time at the bar was wow an hour the first time we queued
Forty the next time
That’s how it went all afternoon
Ridiculous and so unfair considering the sweltering temperatures
Music could of done being louder when we were at the back it wasn’t think it was due to the funfair being there
I have to say I was so looking forward
And came away disappointed sadly we won’t be returning

Second time here. A little more organised this year, however still a way to go.
Went to Cambridge festival yesterday, by far more organised.
The litter was absolutely horrendous, oh my goodness, I was totally shocked at the hazard of not only trying to get around the chairs in the crowds but the litter too !! Litter pick uppers in the VIP area but saw NONE in the other areas.
Perhaps have a seating area ? That way it will make it easier for those who wish to stand and give access to the toilets etc.,
Cambridge Festival had this yesterday and it worked perfectly.
Drinks and food were absolutely extortionate!!
£2.50 for a small bottle of water 🤬 no visible water taps 🤬 £6.50 for a small ice cream cone 🤬 £6.50 for a small beer 🤬 come on guys, get real !!!!
No wonder people were collapsing due to dehydration!!!!
Sound was pretty dia, come on, get a grip !!!
Apart from these issues, Heather Small, Sybil, Heateave, Uncle Funk and Gabrielle were AMAZING.
Harry Cambridge too rushed, and what happened to your live band, your other male vocal and two female vocalist ?? Disappointed!!
The huge choir !! Not great to say the least !!
Toilets were horrible, smelly, totally unhygienic. Need regular cleaning !!
Have bought tickets for next year in the hope that these issues are considered and acted upon…….

Soultasia 2023 - Maldon Promenade Park.
Second year attending and had a fantastic time!

Starting with the cons:
There were a few sound problems with mics not working or music being louder than the singing.
There was a half hour delay which had a knock on effect on the acts.
There was some over crowding but think that was more to do with people arriving later and still trying to squeeze down the front or groups arriving separately and trying to squeeze in with friends instead of being sensible and choosing a bigger space knowing that people would be joining them. My mum was on a chair waiting for the acts and she literally had people stand right in front of her oblivious to the fact she was there. Then when she wanted to stand there was no room and she fell back in her chair. People’s selfishness really rather than the event.
The food and drink were very overpriced. £20.50 for two cheeseburgers and one chips and the card machine took ages to work so food was cold by the time I got back to my seat.
There was apparently a water filling station but I didn’t see it.
The toilets smelled really bad and on a boiling hot day it’s even worse.
The event may benefit from having designated walkways lined out so people can get through with drinks/food etc rather than having to walk through chairs or over blankets etc.

Now on to the pros:
The car parking was easy.
The entry system was much improved from last year and the bag check was very quick and easy.
I didn’t have any queue when I went to buy drinks or food (maybe I was lucky with timing).
Although the toilet queue was long, it went down fairly quickly as there were lots of toilets available.
The music was great as was the atmosphere!
I saw how quickly paramedics attended to someone being unwell.
I regularly saw stewards walking around.
Exiting the promenade by car was much improved from last year.
Have already booked next year and hope more improvements are made as clearly the event organisers are taking feedback on board.

On entry security more concerned with alcohol or food being brought and never even checked tickets! My friend had perfume taken off her and at end of night went to collect it only to be told had been confiscated! Sound wasn’t great and too long queues at the bars to buy drinks at rip off prices, £30 a bottle of wine in a field in Essex is a joke. My friend also wanted to return to her car to collect insulin and was told no if there a problem go to the medical centre, really!, they finally allowed her to her car but this is unacceptable situation and unnecessary upset for my friend. Overall not impressed and doubt will return

The sound system was terrible and so distorted when i went to the organiser to complain about this - he said to upgrade my fee by 25.00 to a vip one as it is better at the front when i said that everyone should be able to hear it and to not be distorted he laughed at me- a very unkind man

Great value for money, but………….£6 for a can of beer that I can buy for £5.50 for 4 cans in Morrisons! Not allowing people to take their own food and drinks spoilt the event somewhat as allowing revellers to have a picnic would have made it an amazing event rather than good event.

The price for the tickets is really good but I’ve given “price” 2 stars because of the rip off food and drink.

Finally, I suppose it was partially amusing that women used the mens toilers but at the end of the night women were queuing to get in the men’s and no event staff did a thing about it.

Every thing was good apart from having my perfume taken off me and told to collect it at the gate after it finished when I got there my perfume was gone and the staff was no help they was calling security as we was all complaining but they didn’t care so have lost my perfume because of their petty convocation they said no glass bottles and yet they was serving bottles of wine so who is going to compensate me for the loss of my perfume 😡
