Review of Jack Rocks and IVW present: The Wytches
It was bloody marvellous! Terrific! A top show! A blinder! The support - 'Death of Pop' we're brilliant! Unfortunately no one explained whose father had died, but they were very interesting nevertheless. Great guitar, great harmonies and great humans! The Wytches were mesmerising and incredibly good. I believe that they will go very far! It was nice of 3/4 of the band to give one of the guitarists a rest for a few of the songs during the set. He could be found hiding behind the keyboard, fiddling with his guitar. Joking aside, I had never seen The Wytches before or heard much of their music, but I loved the power and guts of their performance and am definitely hooked! I was probably one of the oldest punters in the room, but it didn't stop me from nicking the drummer's set list for my son, before the band came back for some encores. It was funny watching the drummer looking for it on the floor when he sat down! Made me feel young again and brought back many happy memories of how I was in the 70's. Nice one!
