With the release of her debut album Love and Compromise, R&B and soul singer, songwriter and actress Mahalia has proven good things certainly do come to those who wait, with an intoxicating collection of woozy jams - and the culmination of many years of work.

The singer first announced herself to the listening world when she was signed to Atlantic records aged just 13, releasing her Never Change E.P in 2015 before Diary Of Me, which the singer refers to as a 'project' rather than a debut album, followed a year later.

In the years building up to of her debut album official dropping, you'll likely have heard the drunk text homage 'Sober' (2017) drifting effortlessly through the airwaves, while fans of Ed Sheeran, Jorja Smith, Emeli Sandi and Ella Mai will have seen Mahalia deliver classy support slots over the years as her profile has heightened.

2019 has treated the singer extremely well - beating both Sam Fender and Octavian to YouTube's inaugural 'One To Watch' award, which is based on mathematical calculations on an impact an artist will make, while she has also been nominated for a BRIT.

Through collabs with the aforementioned Ella Mai ('What You Did') and Burna Boy ('Simmer'), she has garnered some serious radio play - and has proven the hype to be well founded.
