LIVERPOOL was the epicentre of 90s as Creams iron-grip on clubland dominated the sound of progressive house and trance.

Those who played the superclub during its hey-day helped shape the soundtrack of a generation and this month two iconic figures from this influential era Tilt and Grace will perform in one of the citys most historic venues, The Williamson Tunnels, for a very special club night.

Taking place on Saturday, July 21, Tilt presents Rez will see the historic Smithdown Road venue reverberate to the sound of Liverpools clubbing past and future as these two doyens of dance play the music that made them such cult figures in the first place, as well as showcasing their new work.

Formed in the early 90s, Tilt are one of the most influential acts of the past 20 years. Having got their first DJ residency at Eclipse, a Coventry club that helped shape the landscape of the 90s rave scene, Tilt went on to work alongside some of the biggest names in dance music and perform in many of the worlds top clubs, including Space in Ibiza, Womb in Japan, Crobar in Miami and Pacha in Ibiza and South America to name just a few.

Now producers as well as DJs, Tilts talents are showing no sign of diminishing, with their recent remix of Take Me With You, by Cosmos, played by the mighty Pete Tong on his Essential Selection.

Tilt will perform a three-hour set at the July 21 event a live show which will reflect their new sense of direction and showcase their new album, while also harking back to the classic sound that established them as influential figures in dance music in the first place.

Supporting Tilt at the upcoming night will be another reinvigorated legend Grace AKA Dominique Atkins. Grace, who sang on Tilts 1999 hit single Invisible, is the voicebehind many a dance music mega hit and her live PA at the July 21 event is sure to add a truly regal weight to proceedings.

The line-up also includes the esteemed DJ Paul Bleasdale a man whose distinct style of mixing house, prog and techno provided the soundtrack for a generation of city clubbers as he became one of Creams most respected and revered residents for 10 years during the superclubs heyday.

The July 21 event marks a second return to the city for Bleasdale, who delivered a mesmerising set, laden with classics, at a Cream Reunion night held in Nation in May.

Alongside Bleasdale, the line-up for Tilt presents Rez features another DJ from the glory days of Cream Stuart Hodson.
