The best new up-and-coming DJs in 2024

There’s nothing like finding a new DJ and/or producer you love. Often it happens by accident. You go in the wrong tent at a festival, get to a set early and catch the support act, or your mate tells you about their new fave, who you just have to check out too.

Every year, a new DJ finally gets the big break they deserve, and ravers everywhere can’t wait to check them out. As we get closer to the end of the year, we thought we’d share some of the best new DJs for 2024 so you can hopefully find your new favourite.

Here are the new DJs in 2024 to keep an eye on. From house to UKG, techno to DnB, we bet these guys will have a cracking breakthrough year.

 

Surusinghe

Before we get into this, we have to say, we haven’t seen many up-and-coming DJs as cool as Surusinghe. She played at The WHP’s Welcome To The Warehouse party in 2023, blasting through reggaetón-laced breakbeat and techno. People throw around the word “unique” but Surusinghe has genuinely earned that title for her music and sets.

LEXII

The it girl of DJs, LEXII is definitely one of the UK DJs to watch in 2024. Bringing camp and infectious energy to the decks, LEXII has brought the heat to a Honey Dijon party and False Idols at Drumsheds, showcasing his abilities as a natural performer during his sets that are influenced by R&B and hip-hop blended with house and techno.

Huns n’ Roses

Nothing but incredible vibes, Huns n' Roses are here to put a smile on your face. Mixing popular songs - including pop, hip-hop, R&B, cheesy throwbacks, and more - with house, the Huns know how to get a party going. Not too serious but a hell of a lot of fun, this LGBTQIA+ inclusive female DJ collective is going places.

Swimming Paul 

Ethereal and poignant, Swimming Paul will likely be received with open arms by those who are fans of Fred again.. and Barry Can’t Swim’s softer tracks. Weaving emotionally complex but danceable tracks, Paul makes music for raves, festivals, and solitary late nights. Despite having only uploaded his first track to Spotify in March 2023, he’s already got 210,000 + monthly listeners, and we suspect that number will balloon in 2024.

BIIA 

Portuguese techno producer and DJ BIIA will almost certainly be one of the best new DJs for 2024. BIIA released her dark dance Letters From Hell EP earlier this month (December 2023), a project inspired by 80s metal, goth rock, and industrial music, overflowing with raw emotion. In her sets, it's not uncommon to hear genres other than techno as she focuses on serving the party, adding different textures and styles, and playing sounds she wants to hear, too. Click her name above and follow her page to be the first to knew about any future events she announces.

DJ Jackum

Okay, DJ Jackum has been around a little while longer than some of the others on this list, having dropped his first track in 2021 before regularly releasing tunes in 2022. But still, we think he’ll be one of the UK DJs in 2024 to break through in the UKG scene. If you love UK garage, check out the pink balaclava and sunglass-wearing DJ and producer from Huddersfield, DJ Jackum. Anais 

In fairness, Anais is already smashing it. But she’s still a relatively new name in DnB. You might have heard her tracks Headshot or Wicked, or maybe her debut EP Badgyal, which came out in 2021 and made some pretty serious waves. We reckon we’ll hear plenty more from the Bristol-based producer and DJ in 2024.

Milica 

Having supported Seth Troxler and Sven Vath, and with her unreleased track Somebody At Space played by a handful of other DJs including The Martinez Brothers in Ibiza, we reckon 2024 will be Milica’s year. Despite all these impressive achievements, Milica is still quite new to the industry, which, if anything, is incredibly exciting. With her whole career ahead of her, it seems this producer and DJ, whose style ranges from minimal to tech house, has the world at her fingertips. Her Instagram? @djmilica.uk.

Laidlaw

For fans of minimal sounds with the occasional 90s rave influence, Laidlaw will most likely be one of their favourite new DJs in 2024. Laidlaw dropped The Prophecy EP in September - four tracks of minimal and tech house sounds - released on Gottwax, the record label by the people behind underground festival, Gottwood. If you love chill dance, it’s definitely worth a listen.

BLONDi 

On Max Dean’s NEXUP label, BLONDi released her first track, a collab with Dean, in October 2023. Since she’s on a solid label owned by a rapidly rising star with killer productions, plenty of experience performing at Hi in Ibiza, Joshua Brooks in Manchester, and London’s 93 Feet East, she’s definitely about to make some waves. Check out her playful, lowkey house track with Max Dean, Jolie Chatte, above! And get ready to hear it at every festival in 2024.
