Strange things are happening.Thee Psychedelicatessen are Wolverhampton's best kept secret, inspired by the legendry 60s Underground clubs like Middle Earth, UFO and Mothers they emerge from their psychedelic basement every few months to bring you PSYCH-OUT, the best Garage Rock/Classic Psychedelia/new Psych Sounds club night you have never heard of. They have now been doing shows for a year at the Fixxion Warehouse Project (which is tucked away at the back of the Beatties car park in Skinner Street), attracting a loyal following by word of mouth and the psychedelic grapevine for a night of live bands, DJs spinning both classic tunes and fantastic psych/garage obscurities and mind blowing visuals from The Liquid Sunshine Light Lab.

PSYCH-OUT's resident DJs are Psychedelia/Garage Rock obsessives that have been collecting all the best records for years. During their DJ sets you are likely to hear anything from classic British Rhythm & Blues, Psychedelic Soul, 60s Psych Pop, groovy Garage Rock, Freakbeat, warped West Coast Acid Rock and the sleazy proto-Punk of the Stooges and the MC5,however PSYCH-OUT is not strictly a 60s retro night as you are also just as likely to hear brand new music from great current bands such as Goat, Temples, Moon Duo, TOY, Pond and Tame Impala. Although very different, PSYCH-OUT dovetails neatly with the retro Mod, Indie and Brit Pop nights already popular in Wolverhampton and you don't need to be a massive psych-head to enjoy the music.

The Liquid Sunshine Light Lab are all veterans of the Brum/Wolves club scene and have worked on some of the biggest nights in the region. They have now returned to their first love, 1960s influenced mind bending psychedelic light shows. Mixing vintage liquid wheel projectors with custom made video loops and trippy 60s movies they provide the swirling visuals to make PSYCH-OUT the most far out club night in the city. You can check out some of the custom made video loops on Thee Psychedelicatessen's YouTube channel where The Liquid Sunshine Light Lab have provided the visuals for several Psychedelic Rock mixes.

Following a brilliant night in March where Brum psych legend Grindi tore up the dance floor with an epic DJ set and a live performance from Velvet Texas Cannonball blew the roof off the joint, Thee Psychedelicatessen return to the Fixxion Warehouse on Saturday July 11th and celebrate their first birthday with a PSYCH-OUT GARAGE ROCK SPECIAL. Joining The Liquid Sunshine Light Lab and Thee Psychedelicatessen DJs will be two bands from Birmingham; Psych influenced Garage/Punk band Dead Flowers and the much loved Psych/Blues band Crawlin' Hands. It's £5 admission on door. Doors open at 10pm and the night runs to 3am.Dead Flowers will be on stage at 11pm and Crawlin' Hands will be playing around midnight. There will be groovy givaways on the door (badges, posters, stickers, lollys) but be early as the freebies go quickly. For more details see the Thee Psychedelicatessen Facebook page.
