This September sees the arrival of a brand new festival in the bohemian enclave of Ramsbottom, near Manchester.

From September 16-18, the picturesque village will be taken over by the sights and sounds of some of the UK’s top musical acts – including The Waterboys, Badly Drawn Boy, Cherry Ghost, The Animals, and many more.

The festival officially launched today with a special lunchtime event at The Castle Hotel in Manchester. Live performances came from Kirsty Almedia and the Troubadours and The Travelling Band; two of the acts appearing at the festival in September.

The first wave of acts for the festival was officially announced, with Michael McGoldrick & Friends, Kid British, Janice Graham Band, silent disco ahab, Capercaillie, Whalley Range All Stars and more joining the headliners for the three day event.

Guests at the launch enjoyed local Lancashire produce in the form of local ale, pies, and the famous Manchester Egg; a twist on the traditional Scotch Egg using Bury black pudding and a pickled egg.

The festival will offer something for everyone from music lovers to families, real ale connoisseurs to food fanatics, all celebrating the culture and heritage of Ramsbottom and the surrounding area.

Taking place in the picturesque riverside surroundings of Ramsbottom cricket club, the festival will bea warm, welcoming environment for people of all ages, with plenty of local food, ales and artistic delights.

To make the experience even more unique, festival goers can park and ride from Bury or Rawtenstall, making their way to the festival through the winding countryside on a vintage steam train

Tickets for the festival will go on sale at 9am on Monday morning through Skiddle.com.
