David Rodigan and Craig Charles added to Tramlines line up

Funk legend George Clinton also joins the Sheffield party alongside The Enemy and Jane Weaver.

The UK's biggest inner-city musical festival has added a huge list of new names heading for Sheffield from Friday 22nd July to Sunday 24th July. 

Heading the bill at Tramlines is Saturday night Main Stage co-headliner and p-funk legend, George Clinton and Parliament and Funkadelic (watch the classic 'Atomic Dog' below).

Also added are indie-rockers The Enemy who will be playing a farewell set after recently announcing they are to split after their autumn tour.

Other names include psychedelic chanteuse Jane Weaver and indie poppers Teleman who will be performing tracks from their brand new album, Brilliant Saintly (read our review here

Crossing the Atlantic from their native San Francisco are US drone heroes and Wooden Shjips offshoots Moon Duo with Ipswich five-piece Basement and Nordic rockers Shining also confirmed. 

The line up has also been boosted by a genre-busting selection of DJs. 

Kicking off the festival in style with a melting pot of funk, disco, techno will be Mr Scruff & MC Kwasi, who return to the Leadmill venue for the festival’s official opening party on Thursday 21st July.

David ‘Ram Jam’ Rodigan will bring his reggae selections to the o2 Academy on Friday while on Saturday night at Foundry, funk and soul DJ Craig Charles takes a break from filming the new series of Red Dwarf to lay down some sweet grooves.

Other names added include Quantic, Dego, Rita Maia, Logan Sama and nine-piece hip hop outfit The Mouse Outfit

All the above join already listed names including Dizzee Rascal, Jurassic 5, Kelis, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Mystery Jets
