A founding father of the Cosmic Disco sound, Baldelli rose to prominence with his mixture of disco, funk, and European electronica ethnic folk music and equalizer effects. His use of African and Brazilian material helped distinguish his style from Italo disco, which permeated the clubs of Northern Italy during the 1970s. After logging several years at renowned clubs, he developed his style at the notorious Cosmic, a venue by Lake Garda during the late 70s and early 80s. At the Cosmic, Daniele's signature sound emerged that worldly, hypnotic tempo, influenced by the infamous clubs drug culture (mainly heroin, which caused its users to dance slowly).
