Gorilla arrived near the end of 2012, setting up shop in what was the Green Room, and in no time at all had quickly turned it into one of Manchester’s coolest venues. The bricked railway arch space has held a tonne of memorable nights in its relatively short lifespan, with leading promoters clambering over each other to throw their parties in the former theatre.

The month of November sees gorilla continue in its rich vein of form, starting with 1st November’s arrival of Under’s Halloween spectacle. Requesting attendees to get in touch with their dark, sinister side, Gorilla will house Visionquest and One records mainstay Shaun Reeves for a night of sick and twisted house music. Fresh from headlining parties at Ibiza’s DC-10, Amnesia and Eastern Electrics, Shaun Reeve’s house vision is bound to spark a few flames in Manchester.

the underground & friends w/ finnebassen (9th)

The 9th of November sees the mighty Finnebassen headline the latest installment of Underground and Friends. Label mates The Adana Twins join him for a full menu of dirty, melancholic dancefloor wares, house music in its finest forms. Soul Button rounds of an enticing line up that has all the hallmarks of a classic. Join the Underground group here for more info.

rum&bass presents: toyboy & robin (16th)

The night with one of the finest play-on-words we’ve heard, Rum & Bass, present upfront house maestros Toyboy & Robin. Gaining recognition for their sunny, soulful bass heavy house workouts, Toyboy & Robin’s sound has been lighting up dancefloors across the country, causing a furore with their fierce, groove heavy DJ sets. Taches and Queenie complete Rum & Bass’ November entry.

micron seventh birthday: free party (22nd)

Once you’ve got your name listed on Gorilla’s Facebook event, entry is completely free for the welcome return of Micron, a night of unadulterated house, techno and disco. Micron's history of headlining Russian festivals, boat parties in Amsterdam, appearing in Slovenia’s Exit Festival and The Warehouse Project are just some of the high points in what has become a listening back catalogue, catapulting them to legendary status in Manchester. After a year sabbatical, Micron are back in business for this, their seventh birthday. Free parties don’t come better than this.

nothing else matters w/ Danny Howard & Mark Knight (23rd)

Radio One favourite Danny Howard takes a trip back up north armed with his newly imagined Nothing Else Matters night, bringing some of the leading players in dance music to venues around the country. The irrepressible radio DJ and tastemaker will be appearing alongside Toolroom’s head honcho, Grammy nominee and all round British icon Mark Knight. After a chocker Ibiza season and a slew of appearances at Ministry of Sound, Warehouse Project, Creamfields and SW4, the 23rd November holds a very rare chance to see the man himself up close and personal. Unmissable.

solar presents: monika kruse & sam russo (30th)

The last day of the month sees Solar take over Gorilla with a wickedly impressive techno and tech house line up. Born out of a desire to break away from the saturated superbrands that sully the clubbing world, a consortium of DJs, producers, and music devotees sought to bring to Manchester a night concentrating on quality of music.

With their first series of four events concentrating on techno, Solar welcomes Terminal M ringleader Monika Kruse to head up proceedings. As one of the most successful techno DJs and producers in Germany, Monika has been consistently churning out electronic gold both as a producer and label boss. Leftroom Records favourite Sam Russo also appears, bolstered by a run of well received releases and an ever more demanding touring schedule. Expect a treasure trove of techno gold at Solar on the 30th November.
