About Threshold 2021
Across the Threshold
2 Days of Music, Arts & Discussion by Threshold Festival Team
A Hybrid Festival of Music & Arts in venues at Liverpool's Baltic Triangle and Online.
Following the postponement of the final Threshold Festival of Music & Arts due to take place on April 3-4 2020, our new dates are finally confirmed.
More details to follow.
Over 2 days with long-term partner venues District, Unit 51 and Baltic Creative, Across the Threshold will showcase a snapshot of some of the North West’s and UK’s best grass roots music, visual arts and innovative performance.
That's not all. The 2 day event will also host panels, talks and workshops centred around the future of the festival, the Baltic Triangle and the creative community as a whole.
"Team Threshold have been showcasing new and emerging talent in the equally fresh Baltic Triangle area since 2011. The area is now booming and we feel like an integral part of that. It's great to be able to celebrate the last few years with a massive party and also sit down and discuss the future.

Threshold Festival of Music & Arts has its roots in the creative industries of Liverpool and the North West. For 5 successive years, the event has brought together a diverse wealth of artists, musicians, promoters, academics and enthusiasts to The Baltic Triangle district of the city.
The festival was previewed in The Guardian in 2014 and has been critically acclaimed in citywide and regional press. The event is a life force for grass-roots and emerging arts and regarded by many as an established platform for creative practitioners of all stages of artistic development.
Using the once derelict and now booming warehouse venues of the Baltic, which has drawn comparisons to Berlin, Shoreditch and the Meatpacking District of New York, Threshold has grown up with a playground for those seeking the alternative, experimental and fresh.
Founded by Kaya Herstad Carney and Chris Herstad Carney as an expression of passion for the grass-roots music and arts scene of their hometown, the festival has grown in stature every year, attracting more visitors, participants and team members with each edition. Threshold was started by artists for artists, and is dedicated to authenticity, integrity and entertainment at it’s very best.
