For the older siblings climb aboard our gaming busses and mini go-karts. Refreshments and further activities will be on hand in our bespoke Picnic area all in our glorious outdoor secure space at Garon Park Southend-On-Sea ,Essex.

Review of Big Jam Sandwich - Summer Picnic in the Park! 

Absolutely shocking. Wasted our hard earned money on something completely oversold, overcrowded & deffinetly overpriced. Feel completely ripped off!

Far too many tickets sold. Queues for rides too long. Email said you would be allocated times for activities to reduce queues, didn't see any of that. We missed the beginning because it took 1.5hours to go less than half a mile to get in, no one marshalling or organising inward vehicles 

Feel event was overpriced as many of the things my 3 & 1 year old grandchildren could do were at extra cost or ridiculous queues 

When I saw all the advertising for the Big Jam Sandwich I thought it looked really good! There was dinosaurs walking around and the children got to meet Disney Princesses, Peppa and George, Ben and Holly and the dinosaurs themselves!

However, when we got there, we had to firstly queue all the way back onto the Golf Club grounds. My bag wasn't checked (not that I brought anything I shouldn't have) and my ticket was looked at but not scanned.

The big stage was a bit hard to see from where we were standing and there wasn't much chance of getting close to it with a pram and preschooler in tow. The TV screen  next to it made things a bit bigger, but not really. So we didn't see (or hear) anything on the stage.

There weren't any dinosaurs walking around like advertised, at least none that we saw and we were there for 3 hours. I couldn't see where the meet and greets were as there was no signage to show anyone where to go for things. Thankfully while my daughter was queuing for the ferries wheel, I took that half an hour to walk around and see what I could find.

The Princess queue was really long. We waited at least 30-45 minutes to meet them. Thankfully for us when we finished meeting them the Ben and Holly queue had just opened so we only had to wait 10 minutes to see them. We didn't see Peppa or George.

Luckily for us we went to the bouncy castles first as I understand from other parents that later in the day there was an hour wait to get in there. We had our lunch on the floor next to the bouncy castles. I assumed that was the picnic area (again, no signage) as there was a wheelie bin there too.

The fairground rides were, as we knew, not free, but the prices were still a bit high. We paid £50 for a family of 4 (one under 1) to get in and then everything my daughter wanted to go on had an additional cost (minus the meet and greets). She's 3 and spent most of the time queuing up for things. We waited a long time to get to the giant bubbles in the shallow paddling pool. That was £5 for a few minutes. Ferries Wheel for 2 was another £6 and the merry-go-round another £2 (which was the best value for money I'd say).

All in all, tickets were oversold so there was too many people, too many queues and I'm not sure exactly what my £50 entrance fee actually paid for? An expensive meet and greet I guess and the opportunity to have lunch on a field.

I wouldn't go again.

Tickets were oversold, there were too many people, tickets were too expensive for what is was. Moo Music was  brilliant, unfortunately everything else was a disappointment. Litter everywhere as well. Overall I was expecting something like 3 foot festival and it didn't come close

Was fine until 1ish when it seemed liked everyone in Essex entered, could not move, queues for everything were horrendous, felt so sorry for the children.  A two day event would have been fairer.

We had the best day ever, will be going back again next year if they do it again. Only suggest I would make is putting temporary traffic lights on the roundabout as you enter the park to control the flow of traffic better

Was a great venue and my daughter loved it , just think the cue should have been cut according to time limit and so it was fair to everyone that queued that’s all
