Bootle Music Festival 2022 on Friday 17th - Saturday 18th June 2022

The Bootle Music Festival is back!

Friday- We’ve a chilled acoustic Friday evening line up for you lucky people!

We are delighted to welcome back some dear friends, the one and only Mr Glenn Tilbrook, one half of the award-winning Squeeze song writing team of Difford/Tilbrook, Glenn has co-written some of the most-loved songs of the last thirty years “Up The Junction,” “Slap & Tickle,” “Pulling Mussels (From A Shell),” ‘“Another Nail In My Heart,” “Tempted,” “Labelled With Love” and “Black Coffee In Bed.” Glenn’s solo career has spawned the albums The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook, Transatlantic Ping-Pong, Pandemonium Ensues (with the wonderful Fluffers), as well as the highly acclaimed Happy Ending (“an unqualified triumph” – Daily Mirror). As well as his solo work, Glenn continues to tour with Squeeze and has more than earned his reputation as one of our most cherished singers, guitarists and songwriters, not to mention an in-demand and endlessly endearing live performer. Glenn passionately supports the work of the Trussell Trust and encourages everyone to bring something for the food bank stations he has set up everywhere he plays – and the BMF2022 is no exception, please be kind!

Also returning is the gloriously talented Nick Harper - one the UK’s best kept musical secrets. Those who have witnessed the spellbinding, one-man show will tell you this. A childhood growing up surrounded by the musical prowess of some of the 60’s most revered songwriters & musicians, not to mention being son of Roy Harper, along with 20 years of crafting songs & touring the land has spawned a truly one-off, original guitarist & songwriter who stands alone as a UK great, to be cherished & revered. For over two decades, he has been dazzling audiences, reviewers & fellow artists alike with his heady mix of virtuosity, boyish charm, showmanship & sheer bravado.

One to watch is Leon Tilbrook – an incredible emerging talent with a song craft mature well beyond his years, mixed with exceptional vocal and guitar skills, Leon is an exciting live performer.

Kicking off proceedings we have ‘The Captain’ – Liverpool-born Brian Dawe is a composer and performer who is equally at home funking it out with his intricate style of driving, relentless bass, playing solo guitar in his random turn-it-upside-down style (he’s a leftie!), or sat at the piano. B is a prolific songwriter with a back catalogue that spans over 30 years, which most recently saw himworking as Musical Director on the score for ‘Born By The River’ an original musical he wrote and performed in 2021.

Saturday – Time to party!

We are delighted to announce The Christians as our Saturday headliner – Garry Christian, with his distinctive soulful voice heads up the band with the multi-talented Joey Ankrah on lead guitar/vocals, Neil Griffiths on acoustic guitar/vocals and their very own keyboard wizard Mike Triggs. The band are fortunate to have some hugely talented guys sharing drum and bass duties, Craig Connet & Lionel Duke on drums and Bobby Kewley Jnr on bass guitar and some great bvs. After nearly 35 years Garry and the guys are still touring, still writing and still loving it!

‘Coming home’ to play for us again are the beautiful guys Xander & the Peace Pirates – Anyone who has ever had the pleasure to see Xander & The Peace Pirates will know they are a testament to musical integrity and personal strength. Combining soul, blues and rock, their pervasive blend of inspired songwriting and memorable performances has already seen them enrapture audiences from around the world. With haunting riffs, genius melodies and an irrepressibly infectious charisma, Xander and the Peace Pirates continue to share their musical passion to standing ovations, while spreading a universal message of peace, love and harmony.

Many more artists tba….

PLUS…family fun, canoes, arts, music workshops, community chill zone, great food, great beer…..

ID is required for ALL Over 18s - 18+ wristbands will only be provided at the gate with ID.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Please don't drive! There is no allocated parking, so public transport is advised - the venue is 5 minutes walk from both Bootle Oriel Road and Bootle New Strand Station as well as the Strand bus depot where transport links are excellent across the region.
Can I leave the festival and come back in again?
