Northern Soul Night Cotteridge on Saturday 19th March 2022
Northern Soul Night, Cotteridge
We are pleased to be able to bring the classic sounds of Northern Soul to The Cotteridge Social Club
The night will be hosted by Stevie B, a top-class DJ. If you love reggae music, then you are sure to love the sounds of Northern Soul. So, grab your friends and get your dancing shoes on for another fantastic night of Northern Soul music!
Northern Soul is at the forefront of music nationally and is now gaining a worldwide following.
The term 'Northern Soul' was first coined by journalist and American R+B expert Dave Godin. This music and dance movement emerged in the late 1960s and is based on a particular style of black American soul music with a heavy beat and fast tempo. When you hear this type of music for the first time, you immediately relate to the lyrics and the uplifting melodies. Many of these records should have been chart hits but unfortunately, due to limited budgets they sank without trace!
The Northern Soul scene is now bigger than ever with this distinctive music now showcased in many iconic venues throughout the UK.
Don't delay, grab your tickets before they're gone!
