August is nearly over and done with, and even with the traditional Bank Holiday bad weather the sun has come out to remind us how great the weather's been this summer. There's one or two slithers of the season left still...

Festivals

There isn't long left now to get your festival fix in for the summer, with dance music par excellence available at both Zoo Project and Southport Weekender at Camelot, and live music corkers in Festival Number 6 and Shrewsbury Fields Forever. I also think OutKast at Bestival might be the best moment of the summer, find out why here.

Clubs

Whilst the fields are becoming few and far between the discotheques are not. Tribal Sessions is getting ready for a supreme birthday, Chibuku is back in the building and Secretsundaze have a cracker lined up in Glasgow. Mike Boorman has rifled through a selection of September's finest too.

The Rainbow Venues looks good for the coming Autumn, as regaled in our interview with owner Lee MacDonald, and Blu's club tour is mightily impressive. Still looking for ideas this weekend? Be swayed by this interview I did with Late Nite Tuff Guy, who graces Underdog in Manchester on Friday.

Live Music

Gig wise there's plenty to look forward to away from the muddy tents and stages of the festival circuit. Stage supremos Eliza and the Bear are heading to Liverpool in October, as is retro synth star College. The Enemy and The Twang go head to head in Middlesbrough, with power metal troupe DragonForce setting up to destroy Carlisle.

That's it out for another week and another Month; we'll see you in September.
