London, much to the irritation of those up North, easily has the biggest and most diverse clubbing scene in the whole of the UK. There are so many iconic venues that have brought the biggest stars in the world to the capital, and so many iconic clubs that have been called home from the. With the news that the iconic Printworks venue is being closed down to make space for offices, it has never been so clear that we need to celebrate the clubs that give us so many memories.

So, with all this in mind, we wanted to shine a light on all the incredible club spaces in Big Smoke that are still flying the flag for epic nights out. From underground raving, to open-top terrace shenanigans, to swanky late-night bars, to monstrous warehouse parties. London has it all.

Where: Unit 2, 110 Pennington St, London E1W 2BB

This year, E1 will be hosting some of the biggest clubbing events in London. They have Teletech debuting their biggest show to date in October which we're looking forward to. An industrial-style venue that is capable of hosting some of the most spectacular light shows you've ever seen, each show feels like a huge event.

FOLD

FOLD is an artist-led, community-driven nightclub and arts space, and it's one of London's finest. Positioned at the forefront of electronic music, audio-visual performance, and live streaming, FOLD prides itself on striving to be a safe space for its predominantly queer techno community. Their regular club nights are always rocking, the venue is the perfect size for an intimate yet still bouncing night, the staff are lovely, the sound system is wicked, and the crowd is full of like-minded ravers looking for a good night. A safe space that is always a safe bet for a quality night out.

The Cause

Since moving to their new site on Dock Road last year, The Cause have continued to do what they have done for the London raving community, and that is put on gritty hedonistic raves full of pure love and passion for the craft, that nearly always sell out and definitely always pop off something wicked. It's a venue that doesn't shout, it doesn't beg, it just puts on parties that the right people always come to. With the new venue hitting its biggest strides yet, and becoming a bigger better beast than it was previously, The Cause is a must-visit for any impassioned ravers and groovers. 

 


 

Fire & Lightbox

Operating raves since 2008, Lightbox is a 3-roomed club venue located in Lambeth, South London, known for its LED walls that adorn the main room. With a 600-capacity space, the club hosts techno, house, UK garage, and drum & bass events. In addition to regular weekend club nights, Lightbox organizes Thursday night events and after-hours parties. Recently upgraded, it has become one of London's leading nightclubs, offering a high-quality program of local and international bespoke events featuring cutting-edge house, techno, bass, and more. Expect state-of-the-art sound & lighting, courtesy of the brand-new sound system supplied by Danley Sound Labs. There's no chance that you don't recognise one of the most reputable clubbing brands on the planet. Known for its club and label, Ministry of Sound is a clubber's paradise. Every week they have amazing DJs lining up to play at the venue, with everyone wanting to play a set here one day.

With five main areas, each pushing its sound systems to a new limit, this is the very forefront of the dance music scene. Any dancer should get themselves here at least once.

Electric Brixton

Electric Brixton is always buzzing with activity. The 1700-capacity venue first opened its doors in 2011 and has been at the heart of the dance music scene in Brixton ever since. It is the perfect place to hold large clubbing events and always has an eclectic mix of DJs from across the dance music spectrum coming through its doors.

Another huge club, Fabric has carved out a reputation as one of the city's premier nightclubs. Nights here often involve drum n bass, hip hop, Grime, dubstep, techno and house. Many famous names have passed through and that'll continue on as nights at Fabric are some of the best that you'll have in London.

Egg is a bit of an outlier compared to some of the other clubs on this list. They tend to draw in DJs who are boundary pushing, always looking for the next best sounds and experiences. This tailor-made approach to booking acts makes club nights here truly memorable as there's never a dull sight to be had

With three floors and an amazing terrace, it still manages to hold on to an intimate vibe that makes you feel welcome alongside your fellow ravers pretty quickly.

A frequent haunt of some of London's most popular DJs, XOYO has seen some wild nights. They often have residencies from some of the hottest names such as Flava D and are key to always highlighting the next best DJs in electronic music. It has quickly established itself as THE Shoreditch clubbing spot.
