As one of the most important underground venues in Manchester, it's surprising how iconic Sound Control has already become in such a short period of time. Hosting regular nights like Lowdown, Bass Face, Relapse, Reach Out and Majefa, it's proven to be one of the most popular venues in the closely fought fight for underground clubbing supremacy in Manchester.

Monday 20th January sees Sound Control turn four, and with that comes a decidedly eclectic party which sums up everything Sound control is about. Heading the line up will long standing Manchester based folkateer Liam Frost. Described by Elbow's Guy Garvey as the UK's answer to Bright Eyes, Frost has since beginning his career in 2006 been one of the countries most impressive underground alternative folk protagonists.

Whilst never courting the mainstream, he's garnered a significant underground following, not least for his star turns supporting the likes of Elbow, The Decemberists, The Magic Numbers, Willy Mason, Badly Drawn Boy and former Kinks frontman Ray Davies.

He will be ably supported by the newly reformed Bone-Box and up and coming Rick Kevill. Then for afterwards, expect to hear sets from some of the venue's most lauded nights, including Bass Face, Lowdown, Cherry, Deadbolt and Reach Out for a real flavour of Sound Control's impressive roster of associated promoters.
