With the winter now well upon us and the beginning of the festive period just weeks away, we thought we'd pause and take a moment to reflect on some of the many huge Skiddle Mixes we've been gifted throughout Autumn 2020.

Featuring selections of some the freshest, most cutting edge club tracks, mixed exclusively by a host of our favourite up and coming DJs, producers and collectives, our guest mixes are comprised of literally hours and hours of first rate, free music. Covering a wide range of musical styles and vibes, from ambient electronica to pumping house, disco and more, there's something here to suit even the most particular of tastes. 

So, if you're looking to refresh that tired workout playlist, or perhaps you just need some new beats for your living room/makeshift club this weekend (please, rave responsibly), we suggest casting your eyes and ears over the following, long list of free Skiddle mixes courtesy of the future stars of dance music...

 

Skiddle Mix #146 // Weiss

Inspired by the late 80s/early 90s rave scene (the sound of his formative years), this new Skiddle mix from Weiss features tracks from DJ Sneak, Son Orbis and his own recent collaboration with Harry Romero, 'Where Do We Go'.

Breaking out in 2013 when his track 'My Sister' topped the Beatport charts, followed by another chart topper, 'You’re Sunshine', in 2016, Weiss was crowned DJ Mag's 'Best Newcomer', followed by a 'Best of British' award in 2018.

His best known track, 'Feel My Needs', released in 2018, earned him the #1 spot on five international music charts, a spot on the Radio 1 A-List, and over 37 million Spotify streams.

 

Skiddle Mix #147 // Desiree

A rising talent in her native Johannesburg, Palesa Desiree Shilabje (aka Desiree) brings together afro house, deep house and techno for this mix featuring tracks from Re.You, Thakzin and SGVO.

 

Skiddle Mix #148 // Hobbs (UK)

Manchester based DJ/Producer, Hobbs (UK), has played a number of venues in the UK and Europe and his crowd-pleasing performances of rolling tech house is expertly woven with melodic, tribal elements which create a truly unique sound. Hobbs is not afraid to push boundaries in and out of the studio that leads to captivating grooves, heartfelt productions and immersive live performances.

 

Skiddle Mix #149 // Gina Jeanz

Namibian raised Cape Town based Music Producer and DJ has been at it for over a decade. Prior to that, Gina Jeanz’ musical inclinations kicked off at the age of 7 when she picked up the violin. This sparked her interest and kept it there. Gina Jeanz’ technical exploration of music evokes emotion with her skilfully produced tracks and curated mixes.

Her sound selection can be likened to a cosmic exploration of music. Gina Jeanz anchors new sounds to familiar favourites in a way that makes it easy to lose sight of the shore. You feel safe enough to freely go on an adventure – it’s got the kind of futuristic familiarity that makes even the most reluctant-to-dance feel brave on the dancefloor.

 

Skiddle Mix #150 // The Alexsander + In Lakech

A b2b mix that takes you on a journey through sounds of house to melodic techno, together with The Alexsander's label mate, In Lakech.

With heavy support of all his releases by Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 show, The Alexsander rise has been fast. His sound plays on a combination of dark, mysterious, cinematic melancholy elements from pads, arpeggiators to bass lines, a clear red thread that goes throughout his versus music productions.

 

Skiddle Mix #151 // Mike Konstanty

Hailing from the Polish capital of Warsaw, Mike Konstanty burst onto the scene earlier this year, where he released his debut track ‘Prayer For Rain’ on Toolroom for their Miami 2020 compilation. The track reached number 3 on the Tech House Chart on traxsource. Already a well respected DJ on the international stage, he has also shared booths with world-class artists such as Claptone, Riva Starr, DOORLY and Camelphat.

With consistently strong output and more exciting releases in the pipeline, Mike Konstanty is wasting no time in ascending through the ranks.

 

Skiddle Mix #152 // fourteenbillion.

fourteenbillion. are a Writing/Production/DJ duo from Leeds. The brothers grew up listening to 70’s disco, 80’s pop, and 90’s house, largely influenced by their parent's record collection. the rite of passage that led them to their current guise, came spending their adolescence in indie bands before falling in love with a house, hip hop, and everything in between. splitting their time between London and their home studio in suburban Leeds; fourteenbillion. combine chic southern innovation with true northern grit in their music.

 

Skiddle Mix #153 // Tsuki

Red hot UK and Birmingham-based artist Dom Boyle aka Tsuki has consistently broken down barriers since first emerging. He has previously been nominated for the Best Newcomer in the Drum & Bass Awards and in normal times plays shows all over the world. His every new tune is packed with big riff magic, booty-shaking basslines and hands-in-the air energy and his debut album is no exception. ‘Redemption’ is the culmination of years of work that has seen him build up an explosive and ever expanding discography and very much cements him as one of drum & bass’s most talked about talents.

 

Skiddle Mix #154 // Jude Woodhead

23-year-old South London native Jude Woodhead is a classically trained producer whose colourful compositions belie his young age. With influences spanning from Floating Points to Paul Simon, Jude collages sounds from all over the world, combines them his own instrumentation and glues it all together with a striking musicality and richness.

Picking up the trumpet at age 7, and starting production at age 11, Jude was inspired by his dad's collection of Congolese and South African records as well as classic songwriters such as Paul Simon and Jeff Buckley. Moving into adolescence, Jude was exposed to the world-informed, electronic sounds of Floating Points and Four Tet. Bringing all of this together, Jude has forged a style that could fit equally well into a feature film or a 5am set in a warehouse. Jude's music has been described by Crack In The Road as "Striking...Nuanced production"; and attracted interest from some of Europe's biggest labels.
