New events are picking up pace with a decent summer still very much within our grasp. The roadmap may be getting delayed slightly but there's no cause for pessimism as government event trials are showing promising signs for the coming months ahead. 

So grab a friend or two and start mapping out where you want to go this year, as we're approaching a time where ticket sales are starting to hot up as people are getting more excited about what's on offer for the rest of 2021. 

Check out this week's brilliant new additions to Skiddle, we've got legends performing huge shows, festivals, raves, you name it! Hurry though because these events are going to be red hot so tickets are going to fly out.

Haus22 Jeff Mills (3 hour set)

When: Saturday 23rd October

Where: Mint Warehouse, Leeds

Haus22 Records are bringing Jeff Mills over to Leeds' Mint Warehouse for a mammoth 3-hour set! That's right, the legendary artist, DJ and producer will be blowing your mind with the very best in techno music. Known for his daring concepts that result in carefully crafted aesthetics Jeff goes beyond your typical sense of creativity.

So prepare for a set that you will be completely lost in, as the founder of Axis Records flexes his utopian, outstanding performances that have catapulted him to the very top of the game. Tickets will be going quickly for the chance to see this legend in Leeds this year.

Knee Deep in Leeds With Hot Since 82

When: Saturday 31st July

Where: Mint Warehouse, Leeds

Knee Deep in Leeds is delivering an all-star lineup for this event at Mint Warehouse in Leeds. With Hot Since 82 playing alongside Aj Christou, Madvilla and a whole host of brilliant names across a day of entertainment. From mid-afternoon to the earliest hours of the morning, this is a bunch of great acts that will ensure that you never tire.

With deep house and techno music on show, prepare for a mesmeric display and the hardest tunes going. If you've been eager to stretch your knees after a year inside then there's no better place. Tickets have been sought after already so make sure you're not left behind.

Various Square One Manchester Events

When: Saturday 26th June- Sunday 15th August

Where: Square One, Manchester

Square One in Manchester is putting on an impressive summer series this year. Linking up with promoters such as Zutekh and Jika Jika, they're bringing names such as Mella Dee, Denis Sulta, Hot Since 82 and Luigi Madonna over to the city for open-air shows that will be going all day long.

An impressive new venue within the heart of Manchester, this series of shows will place it firmly within the map of a city with a thriving music culture. It's finally time to dance again and we can't think of anywhere better to let loose this year. So come on and get down with Square One!

Bakermat's Circus

When: Saturday 16th October

Where: Electric Brixton, London

Bakermat's Circus is probably not going to contain lions, sorry about that. But, what will be on show down in London's Electric Brixton will be a very special show indeed from Dutch producer/DJ Bakermat. His circus events see him as ringmaster and his electronic and house music set will be his own style of acrobatics.

In fact, you will be completely under Bakermat's spell at this intimate one-off party that will definitely go under the tag of extravaganza. Always a sell-out wherever he finds himself, tickets for Bakermat's Circus are flying out, be prepared for a completely unique experience.

The Flaming Lips in Glasgow

When: Friday 27th May 2022

Where: Junction 1, Glasgow

Alternative rock legends The Flaming Lips will be making their way over from the USA next year to bring you a live set that is guaranteed fun. Always thinking of ways to do things differently, the band did a tour that saw them perform in bubbles as a way of getting around Covid.

Hopefully, they won't need that by 2022 and will be able to give you the full Flaming Lips experience as they scroll through their vast discography and get to show fans tracks from their latest album 'American Head' which came out in September 2020. Supported by Colonel Mustard and Dijon this gig will be special.

Los Bitchos in Liverpool

When: Sunday 20th February 2022

Where: District, Liverpool

Los Bitchos are a band that make entirely instrumental songs. But why use words when your instruments can speak for you? Often the band's melodies are irresistible and rarely ever stationary, taking you on a journey of tropical sunny grooves. Who needs to get on a plane when Los Bitchos take you far away anyway.

The band will be bringing their special blend of sun-kissed tunes over to Liverpool on their upcoming UK tour and we wouldn't miss it for the world. They're a band who are only just getting going and we can't wait to see what they release next.

 W.A.H Sub Focus

When: Friday 10th December

Where: Concorde 2, Brighton

WAH is bringing over Sub Focus to Brighton later in the year with a full lineup that also includes Kara, CK3 and Stature. One for those of you who love Drum and Bass as the much loved Sub Focus will be playing a DJ set that is going to be as intimate as it is relentless. So get on your dancing shoes and head down to Brighton.

Tickets for this one will be going quickly which is no surprise given the calibre of that lineup. Playing well into the early hours of the morning, Sub Focus will be all guns blazing. This is not one to be missed.

Glastonferret Festival

When: Thursday 26th- Sunday 29th August

Where: The Ferret, Preston

Nom this is not a festival where you can come and pet ferrets, this is a festival based in Preston pub The Ferret. It's brought together a lineup of class indie band talent across a whole weekend with a distinctively northern emphasis. Here's your chance to catch The Orielles, Red Rum Club, Billy Nomates, The Goa Express and Witch Fever all in the same place.

Ranging from riotous rock to cinematic, dreamy pop and anthemic belters it's a diverse selection of much-loved artists. Add to that an outdoor bar and a BBQ and it sounds as though you have an incredibly relaxing weekend with some amazing entertainment, what more could you want?

Charlotte De Witte at Motion in Bristol

When: Saturday 31st July

Where: Motion, Bristol

Sought after DJ Charlotte De Witte will be heading over to Bristol in July for a show at Motion. Bringing with her Lsdxoxo and Wallis. If Acid House and Techno is your sort of thing then please allow Charlotte to blow your mind with her mixes and unbeatable stage presence.

Why not make it a whole weekend out in Bristol as you'll be up all night to the tune of the Belgian DJ who will have you wrapped around her finger. Make sure you grab a ticket for this as soon as you can, it's going to be a spellbinding display that we've been sorely missing.

Circus presents Laurent Garnier

When: Saturday 28th August

Where: Invisible Wind Factory, Liverpool

Circus is bringing Laurent Garnier over to Liverpool's Invisible Wind Factory and support will come from Lewis Boardman. The pioneering French DJ who has decades of experience of making crowds lose their minds will be giving attendees the time of their life. 

A legend that has graced the hallowed ground of The Hacienda, Laurent has endured the test of time and come out on top. Still putting out massive dancefloor hits to this day, his wide range of styles mean that this eclectic DJ has left quite the mark on dance music culture. Be sure you don't miss him.
