New On Skiddle is here to inspire you to get out there this Summer. We have plenty of festivals and dance events to quench your dancefloor thirst.

We are more than enjoying this May sunshine. It gets you right in the mood for the festival season, doesn't it? Well, we have a couple of them to share with you on this week's New On Skiddle. There are also plenty of dance events that you can get yourself to and even a culinary adventure if you've got eyes for food and drink only.

Electric Woodlands

When: Friday 1st- Saturday 2nd July

Where: Bygrave Wood, Hertfordshire

After a triumphant first edition in 2021, Electric Woodlands returns this year and has started expanding already. Moving to a two-day camping festival, it means that twice the entertainment will be on offer. On this year's lineup, you'll find names such as Sub Focus, Shy FX, Wilkinson and more.

This is a festival that has quickly put itself on the map and you can purchase day tickets now too if you only want to catch your favourites on a single day.

Continental GT Steppers Manchester

When: Saturday 2nd July

Where: 02 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester

Continental GT returns to 02 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester this year for their latest instalment of high-energy thrills and unrelenting bangers. The perfect kind of show for House and Garage lovers, he will be at his brilliant best. He'll be hoping to outdo his previous show here which will be some feat.

Chow Down

When: Friday 10th June

Where: Temple Arches, Leeds

Chow Down has returned with a new concept for this Summer. Starting in April and lasting all the way until September, this is not your average food stall installation. As well as having a range of terraces on offer, there will also be musical entertainment from special guests.

If that isn't enough to tempt you in then there's also mini-golf, so if you fancy a swing whilst being a bit tipsy then go for it.

Jo Whiley's 90s Anthems

When: Saturday 3rd September

Where: Rialto Plaza, Coventry

One of the most beloved radio DJs in the country will be spinning some of her favourite 90s tunes in Coventry later this year. Expect to hear tunes from The Verve, Blur, Faithless and plenty of other artists who helped elevate the decade to iconic status. Celebrate one of the best decades in music in the right way.

Dream Valley Festival

When: Saturday 28th May

Where: Lydd London Ashford Airport, Kent

Dream Valley is a festival that brings together some of the world's greatest dance artists and blends it with a completely immersive experience. With thousands of people being let through the gates, you'll get to indulge in seven different stages of music each with a different vibe. 

Basement Jaxx, Roger Sanchez and Idris Elba are just some of the names on this impressive lineup.

Re:Sistance 001

When: Saturday 25th June

Where: FOLD, London

The resident DJs at FOLD come together here to deliver an amazingly immersive night of dancing. The whole FOLD family will be out in force, it'll have a community feel to it which always results in some of the best club nights. The first of many regular new nights, you can see for yourself.

Nightmares On Wax

When: Tuesday 21st June

Where: Propyard, Bristol

Nightmares On Wax is off on tour and he'll be coming to Bristol's Propyard. He'll be joined by Louis VI for this one and he'll be playing just the right vibes with his laid-back trip-hop sound. A legend who has been in the game for ages now, he's always mixing things up and we can't wait to see the energy that he brings.

Homoelectric at Hidden

When: Saturday 27th August

Where: Hidden, Manchester

Homoelectric is one of the biggest nights in the Manchester nightlife calendar. If you want even more of a fix from one of the city's greatest names then come to this night at Hidden that they're putting on over Pride weekend. Nowhere quite captures the essence of partying like a Homoelectric night.
