No stranger to peak-time sets, Monki is a firm crowd favourite thanks to her high octane DJ sets, which are normally filled with bass-heavy anthems, energetic house offerings and big tracks laced with tribal and disco influences.

We asked the Radio 1 stalwart to list five tracks which have soundtracked standout moments when the sunrises and her set finishes; those pinch-me mornings and unforgettable get togethers which are made all the more special by a single track...

Atlantic Ocean - 'Waterfall'

So, this track reminds me of the first time I went to Ibiza with Radio 1. It came out in 2002 so it obviously wouldn't have been then, I would of been 10 ha! The first time I went to Ibiza with Radio 1 was in 2014 when I was 21 and I played Ushuaia for them.

We all went to Privilege to watch Pete Tong play B2B with Sasha. After Privilege had finished, we weren't sure where to go next and my mate thought it would would be a great idea to go jumping into the sea (probably not the safest idea, but we were all feeling pretty invisible). We all jumped in over and over again off this cliff and just as the sun was coming up we swam out to a big rock and sat on it to watch it finally hit the sky. I had to be on the breakfast show with Grimmy in a few hours, which I did, they asked me to play a tune... I played this one.

Midland - 'Final Credits'

This record was probably the sunset / sunrise / end of set tune of 2016. Everyone was playing it and it probably is still a contender for last tune of the night, I think it will be for quite some time. It makes great use of an old disco tune, making it pretty timeless.

Soul Central - 'Strings of Life' (Danny Krivit re-edit)

Obviously, huge tune. I've ended sets with it a lot over the last few years. This reminds me of Glastonbury so much, it's a pretty Glasto tune, you're bound to hear it at some stage walking around the late hours or at Stone Circle where everyone flocks to watch the sunrise.

Fatboy Slim - 'Talk About My Baby'

Might seem a bit of a random one but I played this out once, I think it's the only time I ever have, just felt right. It was the first time I was playing Sonar a few years ago and I was playing the sunrise set 5-7am after Four Tet. Crowd stuck with it right til the end and this was my last tune of the night, it's not a huge record it's more of a intro or an interlude, but it worked.

Prince - I Wanna Be Your Lover (Dimitri From Paris Edit)

I mean, this ones pretty self explanatory. This could be played at any time during the night but sunrise, pffft, all round hugs and lots of 'I love you' mates flying around the place.
