After headlining Field Day and Wilderness, and selling out Brixton Academy and Alexandra Palace back in 2013, Joe Mount's Metronomy project is finally back, with new album Summer 08 slated for release on July 1st. Watch the video to lead single 'Old Skool' below.

Game of Thrones fans will spot a familiar face in Ben Crompton, AKA Brother of the Knight's Watch Eddison Tollett alongside Catastrophe's Sharon Horgan, with Metronomy's distinctive funk tying together a a seventies flavoured, Mike Leigh inspired sordid house party.

The album itself has been entirely written by Mount, and is based on his experiences 'around the time that Metronomy first landed a major breakthrough with the Nights Out album – the guilt at spending key moments in loved ones' lives in the back of a tour bus, and the confused mania of finding himself a critical darling.'

The album features one collaboration, with Erol Alkan and Robyn joining Mount on 'Hang Me Out To Dry'. With no plans to tour the album, it looks like we're going to have to make do with the recorded version this time out - for now anyway. Head here for more on Metronomy.
