Now Wave and The Warehouse Project have today announced plans for an exciting show at Manchester's iconic Apollo on June 4th.

The perfect warm up to Parklife Festival, Now Wave at the Apollo will feature a diverse range of some of the most exciting acts around today, putting Parklifers well and truly in the mood for the following weekend’s events. Like you needed any encouragement.

Headlined by the awesome Caribou and Battles, the event will also feature Ramadanman, Actress, Star Slinger, Illum Sphere, Kelpe and Now Wave DJs, and will keep the Apollo jumping until 3am.

Caribou’s Swim was one of the outstanding albums of last year, an assured collection of tracks that took in minimal techno, uplifting disco and gentle, layered harmonies. Always a thrilling live act, their performance at the Warehouse Project last year was a highlight of the series.

Battles’ hugely anticipated new album Gloss Drop is released on the day of the event, and their live performance promises to be a fitting celebration. Known for their virtuoso improvisation and innovative use of cutting edge effects and loop pedals, few can match the visceral intensity of Battles live.

Every artist performing at this event will be backed with unique visuals, making this a truly one-off show.

Over the past few years, Now Wave have created a name for themselves as exciting and ambitious young promoters in Manchester. They are responsible for some of the most unique and memorable shows the city has seen in recent times, from Chris Cunningham's stunning audio-visual show at the Manchester Opera House, Four Tet performing material from There Is Love In You, DOOM at the Warehouse Project, or Chilly Gonzales' Piano Talk show at St. Phillips' Church. Now Wave brought The XX to Manchester for the first time, and have promoted every gig the band has ever done since in the city.

Having seen some of their favourite bands of all time perform at the Apollo, such as Radiohead or the White Stripes, Now Wave finally have the chance to fulfil their long-time ambition to put on their own unique event at the venue, which promises to be a far different experience to any show previously held in the building. This will be the inaugural Now Wave at the Apollo, with plans to host more in the future whenever the opportunity arises to put together an array of acts this special again. The entire venue will be open for this event, with acts performing on all floors and people free to move around. Every artist performing will be backed with unique visuals.

The event will run from 8pm to 3am.
