Manchester-based streaming platform United We Stream (UWS) will host its first all-POC (persons of colour) lineup on Saturday 12th September.

Breathe Manchester - which aims to “put the spotlight on Manchester’s wealth of talented and dynamic POC performers, artists and DJs” - will go live on the platform from 2pm to 10pm on Saturday 12th September.

Featuring sets from the likes of Lovescene, Ceeow, Katbrownsugar, Levi Love, Reece Williams, DJ Blackbetty, Nasima Bee, DJ Obeka, DJ Mix-Stress, Chande, Abena and Korzi, the event will be the first of its kind on the platform - which has raised hundreds of pounds for worthy causes following the outbreak of Covid-19.

The event has been inspired by the #BlackLivesMatter movement and put together by a collective of DJs, musicians and promoters hailing from the city, including Rebecca Swarry (RebeccaNeverBecky), Pops Roberts (Lovescene), Alice Woods (Save Our Scene & Meat Free), Romy Green (Shifting Spheres), Yohan Reitan (Me Gusta) and DJ d.clemente.

The Breathe Manchester Team said: "Manchester has such a wealth of talent, across POC performers, DJs, musicians and poets - it is only right that this should be celebrated.

"Although long overdue, we're honoured to have been able to programme such a strong lineup and the first of its kind on the United We Stream platform.

"The stream will also be raising funds for local POC artists and charities at a time when we need to come together and support each other more than ever. It's going to be an extremely special day of music and art."

You can watch Breathe Manchester live from 2pm -10pm on Saturday 12th September via United We Stream’s website or Facebook page.
