About Larmer Tree Festival 2020
The event has cemented itself as one of the UK's most loved and long standing festivals thanks to the combination of its breathtaking location, outstanding line ups and breadth of activities on offer.
Set in the Victorian gardens in the beautiful landscapes of Cranborne Chase, an area of outstanding natural beauty nestled between Dorset and Wiltshire, Larmer Tree Festival is an intimate delight for festival-goers of all ages.
With an eclectic line-up that in 2016 included the likes of Tom Odell, The Stranglers and Jamie Cullum, not to mention a star studded comedy stage and plethora of family activities and more, the festival's reputation as being one of the highlights of the summer is well-deserved.
Creative Director, Sarah Dennehy says 'We are incredibly excited about Larmer Tree's return in 2018. I’m proud to be part of this remarkable festival and look forward to announcing my first Larmer Tree Programme in 2018.”

From London, West and the North - from the A303 take the A350 to Shaftesbury then A30 towards Salisbury. After approximately 3 miles (on reaching Ludwell) turn right at the signs for Larmer Tree Gardens and then follow brown heritage/flower signs for 5 miles.
Public Transport
The nearest train station is Salisbury, and there’s a very limited bus service to within 2 miles of the Larmer Tree site.
Please call Wilts and Dorset Buses on 01722 336855. Salisbury Bus Station is a 10-15 minute walk into town from the train station. Ask the bus driver to drop you at the 'Thickthorne Crossroads' stop and walk from there (approx 2-3 miles), following the 'Larmer Tree' brown flower signs.
The first baby Larmer Tree was born on a really beautiful sunny Saturday in July 1990. Dick Heckstall-Smith headlined a bill of just six bands, it ran from midday ’till midnight and an audience of 150 turned up. The Gardens weren’t open to the public in those days and were a little on the wild side, but everyone loved the day and said “you really must do this again”. Apart from taking a year off in 1992, the festival has run annually in July ever since.
