bluedot is a truly unique festival taking place at Jodrell Bank, the iconic observatory at the heart of humanity’s quest for discovery.
This experience invites you to explore a stellar programme of music, science, arts, technology, culture and film and discover a festival unlike any other on Earth.
bluedot's mission is to entertain and inspire through a series of ground breaking live performances, DJ sets, talks, workshops, experiments, exhibitions and experiences.
bludot returns 20th-23rd July 2023!
Following two years of postponements, the award-winning intergalactic music, science and culture festival, bluedot (21 - 24 July ’22) – made a triumphant return in 2022.
Headlining Sunday evening with a UK Festival Exclusive and uniquely commissioned performance alongside Manchester’s famed Halle Orchestra was international superstar Björk.
Legendary Scottish post-rockers Mogwai headlined Saturday night at bluedot 2022 alongside Indie-electro giants, Metronomy whilst one of the best-loved dance acts, Groove Armada closed Friday night.
The stellar line-up also saw Spiritualized, Yard Act, Working Mens Club, A Certain Ratio, Tim Burgess, Squarepusher and Anna Meredith amongst many more acts.
bluedot has also had headline names from its science programme for 2022. Key speakers included host of Radio 4’s The Life Scientific Professor Jim Al-Khalili, British historian and filmmaker David Olusoga, leading space scientist Monica Grady, and astrophysicist and host of BBC’s The Sky at Night Chris Lintott.

bluedot returns to Jodrell Bank Observatory from Thursday 25th July to Sunday 28th July 2024.
Adult weekend camping tickets start from £158, with 11-15 years starting from £87 and 6-10 years at £27.50. Children under 5 go free.
By Car - The festival site is approximately 30 minutes from Manchester City Centre and 50 minutes from Liverpool city Centre.
By Coach - Tuned In Travel is the partner travel company, supplying coaches from Manchester, Sheffield, Stockport, Chester, London – Friday Only, Chorlton, Fallowfield – Friday Only, Liverpool, Macclesfield and Warrington.
By Rail - We recommend travelling to Macclesfield train station, from Manchester the journey will take 20 minutes and London 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Bluedot is a four-day festival set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. The festival work closely with Attitude is Everything to provide an event site, which is accessible.
Please note: The accessibility facilities are reserved to festival goers with disabilities so unfortunately broken legs, recent injuries, recent operations, elderly and pregnant women do not qualify.
Yes, bluedot has on-site camping. There are varied options of camping available to suit all needs.
bluedot is made up of six campsites consisting of:

Standard Camping

Family Camping (a family-only area located within the standard campsite)

Tangerine Fields (pre-pitched dome tents located with the standard campsite)

Live-In Vehicles

The Colony – Boutique Camping
Camping is only available with a weekend ticket and standard campsites are included in the price of your ticket. For all campsites excluding pre-bookings (boutique, Tangerine Fields and live in vehicles) spaces are on a first come first served basis.
Bluedot is located in Cheshire as part of Manchester University, The Jodrell Bank Observatory. The postcode to take you directly to the site is SK11 9DW.
Unfortunately, we can’t issue you with a refund if you can’t make the event due to work commitments or your mates have dropped out. In these circumstances, we advise passing on your tickets privately to avoid losing out on the money spent.
Refunds can only be offered if the event is cancelled or postponed, as agreed upon purchase.
Bluedot Festival is suitable for all ages with plenty of science and art activities for the family to enjoy. You may be asked to show photo ID.
Depending on your delivery method (RaidScan or Posted) you can view your order at any time in your order history or the 'my tickets' section of the Skiddle app. From here you will be able to check the status of your delivery or access your RapidScan tickets.
You are allowed to bring food and drink to the campsite however you are not allowed to bring your own food and drink into the festival site. There will be a wide variety of food and drink stalls inside the festival, serving up organic, vegetarian and vegan options.
The set times are generally released on the first day of the festival.
