Nestled in the picturesque Cheshire countryside, Blackthorn Music Festival is a true celebration of city culture and rural produce. Manchester is responsible for creating and supporting some of the best music ever made, and the surrounding areas have produced some of the tastiest, highest quality food and drink available. If you come to Blackthorn, be assured that you will experience the best of the city along with the best of the countryside. We’ve also done our best to remove the bad bits, so no traffic and no cow poo – when Karl’s Aberdeen Angus cows move out the campers move in!
As well as top music, there will also be a variety of other arts showcased at Blackthorn. Dedicated areas for acoustic acts and spontaneous live art installations appear throughout the festival, so if you go for a wander away from the main stage you never know what you might come across. After our successful venture into Glamping last year, we are increasing the number of Bell Tents available to hire. So why not go for the luxurious approach and enjoy the whole weekend.

The history of Blackthorn Festival
Blackthorn originally began life as a massive party to celebrate Laura Hancock going away to uni. Looking happily around the area, Karl realised that he could combine his love of music and food to create Manchester’s first credible music festival with camping. 2013, 2014 & 2015’s festival have been a great success doubling their attendance yearly. To increase the quality and the ultimate festival experiences, this year all campers have posh loos and hot showers available.
